Reduce Orthopedic Pain with Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy injections, available at our Bend clinic, are progressive and successful orthopedic treatments utilized to heal musculoskeletal injury, including ligament, joint pain and tendon injuries and osteoarthritis.

Our Bend prolotherapy injections for osteoarthritis and joint pain are a non-surgical solution that stimulates healing by targeting the functionally insufficient or degenerated connective tissue with the precise injection of a mild irritant solution directly on the ligament or tendon. It’s also known as regenerative medicine or regenerative injections.

These injections create a controlled inflammation that stimulates the body’s powerful and natural healing process to create new strengthened tissue. Depending on the condition and therapies utilized, it may take several injections spaced at two to four week intervals to achieve optimal results.

Types of Prolotherapy include Dextrose Prolotherapy, High Density Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (PRP) and Adipose Derived Stem Cell (ADSC) Therapy. Cells are extracted from the patient’s own body, processed in a controlled environment and injected into the target area to generate new cells and advance healing.

At Bend Regenerative Medicine our in house lab yields higher amounts and concentrations of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and also the ability to remove or add white blood cells (Pure or Acellular PRP versus Cellular PRP) depending on the tissue (Joint, ligament or tendon) being treated. Most commercial kits only process celluar PRP with average yields of 6 cc  (2-3X platelets) versus 14-18 cc (4-6X platelets) through our lab. This results in fewer treatments and much better outcomes.

Dr. Payson Flattery is known throughout the Central Oregon region for his deep experience and positive outcomes utilizing regenerative medicine. Our Bend area prolotherapy injections for osteoarthritis and joint pain may be an appropriate alternative to surgery for your injury or chronic pain, or it may be a complementary treatment to other medical solutions. Dr. Flattery uses a combination of prolotherapy and conventional forms of medicine to ensure his patients get on a fast track to healing.
